French Pavé: French Pavé is a lovely and bright “hand cut” pavé style. The metal is “engraved” with a sharp tool called a graver and it cuts a diamond-cut bright “V” edge on the profile of the metal, just on the side of where the gemstones are set. This creates a very bright and sparkly edge to your jewelry item. It also allows for the gemstones to have 4 separate prongs holding it for security. This type of setting is typically prettiest with gemstones weighing .05ct and under and is best for accent diamonds or colored stones in a ring, wedding band, pendant or earrings. Here are a couple of macro (10x magnification) images of how French Pavé can look:
“U” Pavé: U Pavé is a beautiful way to have accent diamonds or colored stones set into a ring, earring, pendant, bracelet or wedding band. It is similar to the French Pavé described above in that the same tool is used to create and hand cut a diamond-cut. But this time in a “U” shaped cut out. It is delicate, bright and adds a really fun design element that you can enjoy while looking down on your jewelry item or from the side view as well. All of our “U” Pavé has been hand done for bright perfection each time.
Bead Set Pavé: Bead Set Pavé is a fabulous way to have accent diamonds or colored stones mounted in your ring, earring, wedding band, bracelet or pendant. This method of creating tiny beads of metal to hold each gemstone is a secure way to literally pave your jewelry item in gemstones. This type of setting is usually flush with the metal, creating a very secure and low-profile accent stone.
